We are delighted to enhance your romantic break in our Hay-on-Wye boutique accommodations with our displays of paintings from two well-known local artists and also ceramics from The Brooke Street Pottery in Hay on Wye. These presentations help create the wonderful contemporary chic interiors in tandem with the exterior riverside environment. In each property you will find works by Eugene Fisk and Kate Milsom together with a catalogue of the pictures, prices and contact details. Your purchases directly support Jump4Timbuktu, the charitable fair trade initiative orgnised in partnership with the Tuareg Artisans of Timbuktu.
Kate, Eugene and the pottery have offered to donate 15% of the sales proceeds towards projects designed to help the Tuaregs trade their way out of poverty. A stunning range of the Tuareg silver and stone hand-crafted jewellery is available a short walk away at The Haymakers Gallery.
Owing to the unique nature of this private 'residence-as-gallery' project, and due to our close relationships with the artists and involvement in the Timbuktu initiative, the featured works on display at Hay Retreats are offered for sale without usual Gallery commission. The catalogue prices reflect this, being roughly 15% less than their usual gallery rate.
