About Us

Sue and Steve Felgate, have lived in Hay-on-Wye for 20 years and in 2010 opened their Hay-on-Wye self-catering accommodation at Hay Retreats. Ten years earllier, in 2000, they developed Castara Retreats, a successful Caribbean eco resort in Tobago. The principles are the same as for Castara Retreats in that we aim to provide self catering Wales accommodation at the same level of quality that we would seek for ourselves were we coming to Hay on holiday. This means a lovely location, with good views and stylish interiors with comfortable furniture and good quality equipment.

Steve is responsible for promoting and marketing Hay Retreats and he aims to work with advertisers and agencies that offer good quality information for clients. Ellen looks after the properties and liaises with clients by email and telephone to confirm reservations and related details.
